submarine

Under water submarine

I found this in a rubbish bin and bought it home it was too good to leave there. I have some spare domes to build another one. It is for sale at the right price. It would be good for underwater inspections as it could be set up to take video of the dive, cheaper than a diver and stay there longer. The previous owner told me it cost in the region of $100,000 to build as it was built for depths of 90 feet. It needs control systems to work the motors that are twelve volts. The metal parts are aluminum. The domes are about 300mm diameter. It has four motors.. cheers Stewart

Warranties

Warranties are generally not worth the paper they are written on. If you can buy a product without warranties at a cheaper price you will be better off. I bought a new vehicle and the remote key entry doesn't work. You would think its under warranty well they say at the reception desk that if it is not a manufactures fault you are up for the costs. I stood there watching the other costumers arguing over the cost of repairs with no come back on the warranty. When I saw what was happening I said when it was my turn, that if it wasn't covered by warranty not to fix it. The come back was you will have to pay the labour charges. Who gets to say its warranty? They do and they aren't going to give you the warranty because they can claim the warranty charges and parts they have charged you from the Manufacturer.
I bought a Holden Barina new many years ago and had it serviced and the book kept up to date. I was sure the work wasn't being done and advised them of my concerns,I was told what would you know so I let it be, Just in warranty it blew a head gasket. Same deal no warranty if not a manufactures fault. Well I had to get the thing fixed and they rang me and said that it wasn't covered by warranty because I didn't change the oils and glycol at the regular intervals, and I said that's right and to fix it any rate. When I went to get the car they went through the same spool and I agreed with them and it was that I didn't change the oil etc, They presented me with a bill of $1200.00. And I asked what this was for and they again said that I didn't change oil and I again agreed, then I said "That's what I paid you for" and "You will pick up the bill for this". Well you should have seen the service managers face. Well I laughed and smiled and he couldn't do a thing about it as he told me in front of witnesses what had caused the problem..This story happened in Wollongong

You are who you are

One of the earliest times I can remember in life at about four years was that we were low on the money tree that is we were poor. I remember mum telling me that there was gold at the end of a rainbow and she described the riches there. The next day there was a rainbow over a swamp and I decided to go and get all that gold I waded into the swamp in mud up to my neck to get the gold and was in that swamp for about three hours and the end of the rainbow kept moving and in the end I had to give up on the conquest. There was I in this swamp as the light was fading covered in leaches cold and tired. I found my way home and got a belting for going swimming alone. Some times life can be harder than expected don't expect thanks for anything as you do because you wont get it. I felt more at home with animals than people and I used to go into a dry creek bed and played with baby brown snakes until my father saw me and he killed all those little friends I had. I went on to befriend a wild bull that came out of the bush to the house to make friends with the cows, my dad once caught me out in the paddock sleeping on the bull and the bull didn't move when my father came to get me . It was about then that I realised I had a gift with wild animals. My uncle Tiny was a bushman and was trainer as a black tracker by the local aborigines, and he used to teach me the ways of the blacks and of the bush I have never forgotten those things and those fantastic times. Only just recently he told me that I was part aboriginal and how it happened I was left in a quandary as to who I was and I went searching for answers. I went and saw an aboriginal woman who was full blood and she gave me this advise. "You are who you are". How simple is that! For all those people who have some sort of dilemma about who you are this is the answer. I will repeat it again . "You are who you are". cheers Stewart

tesla coils

I have been playing around with Tesla coils and have found something strange about energy in some times doesn't equal energy out! Has anyone else found this?

solar water heaters make electricity

As I said before in another post water heating is viable proposition and also for heating air.I placed a mirror on the west side of the house at Gundagai to heat the freezing room in the morning and it worked. It increased the temperature about 5 to 10 degrees ( the thermometer was broken and the scales moved so this is a guess) What would happen if more mirrors were placed and directed to a focal point and all the heat heated water, maybe a boiler to run a steam engine to generate electricity..I could use a 2inch x2inch engine to drive a car alternator to charge batteries and these could pump water. Just dreaming but it would work...What if it were done on a big scale? cheers Stewart

earthquakes

Are the earth quakes in the last days are related? Yes! They all have one thing in common the Australian plate. Things will get worse in the future why? Well the amount of coal iron ore and now natural gas being taken from Australia since this country began mining and the weight of all exports must have an effect on the balance of the planet. If you don't believe me go out and take a wheel weight from one of your car wheels and see what happens. The natural gas is like a shock absorber, try taking one of those off your car as well...We move people from on area of Sydney in the morning and then back in the afternoon, there is thousands of tons doing this every day, not only here but in all other cities all around the world. This would weaken the sub surface rocks and in time will cause cracking and therefore weight changes in a local area and then this will transfer to the plates as a hole. What can be done ? Nothing it will just happen and we will have to live with the consequences. This doesn't take into account all the atomic bomb explosions in the Pacific and other places over the years as well..Don't believe me ? Then go to Newcastle (Australia) and see the ground subsidence there that has come to the surface..
I guess that some people will think I'm a real nutter now but I posted this as food for thought only..cheers Stewart
