I decided that the glue alone was not strong enough to hold the deck down and bought some stainless steel screws to hold it on. Total cost $103 + previous costings149.85 + bung 2.50 = $255.35. Then there is the bolts for the outboard brackets $42.00 + $255.35 = $297.35. Two spoons from the tip to make washers $1= Total to this point $298.35. I have been given some paint to paint the hull so what I got is going to be the colour of the hull.
This boat building is costly for a free boat. I haven't factored in time at commercial rates which would be roughly 22 days x say $15 per hour x eight hours per day would equal say 22 x 15 x 8 = $ 2640
Then there is electricity fuel to get parts cost of car and insurances tools and there depreciation add say $100 insurance fuel say $100 tools say $100 use able things like sandpaper and saw blades especially when I hits a nail. This total = $300
Add to that administration charges, using the trailer as an example. Cost of article + 10 % and this would be.
2640 labour
298.35 parts
$300 for fuel etc.
sub total $3038.35
Add administration charges $3038.35
grand total = $6076.70
Free boat not so free. Worth doing probably not but it is different. New laws in Australia require new boats to be engineered and certified, making the building of new boats impracticable for the armature

Clean fuel
Hydrogen is the clean fuel of the future or is it. They the experts say that all you get when burning hydrogen is water and this is not so. Here it is the truth, when burning anything in the atmosphere there is nitrous oxides given off as a byproduct of burning, anything that is burnt. If you burn wood there is other chemicals in the wood that combine with oxygen that is called pollution. If coal is burnt there is sulphur given off along with other chemicals that is not good for humane health. Where does oxygen come from the answer is green vegetable matter that is trees and plants. No trees and plants no oxygen = suffocation. All animals including humans. Total decimation of the planet. How long, Some say only God knows. The real problem is going to be lack of Oxygen, Steel making uses 99% pure oxygen in the BOS, huge amounts of Oxygen in the Basic Oxygen Steel making process to take out the carbon. They have mechanical extraction plants at steel production works to squeeze pure oxygen from the atmosphere. Transport uses huge amounts of Oxygen. Coal burning power stations use huge amounts of Oxygen to make electricity. Respiratory problems are on the increase, why? Lower amounts of oxygen for animals to sustain life...
Why is the Ozone layer disappearing well Ozone is three oxygen atoms joined together and what we have is a lack of oxygen to form three atom molecules. Oxygen joins easily with any other element and here is the real problem and when this happens it takes atoms of Oxygen from the ozone layer. That's it simple....

Production of Oxygen
Oxygen, the second-largest volume industrial gas, is produced commercially as a gas or as a liquid by several methods. These include: » | Cryogenic Air separation, a process that compresses and cools atmospheric air, then, - relying on different boiling points - separates the resulting liquid into its components in a distillation column | |
» | Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption (VPSA), a non-cryogenic technology that produces oxygen from air by using an adsorbent in a pressure swing process to remove nitrogen |

straight talk
I had this friend We will call him say, Peter C cause that is his name and he said that authority didn't like straight talk. He owned a sawmill in Wollongong and the mill had been going for three generations or more before he got it. When his father died he transferred the mill licence to his name before his father died. On the death of his father the council came and told him to shut up shop as the licence was in his fathers name. Well Pete said "what was the piece of paper on the wall pork chops". They looked and said when did you change that? He says are you oafs lawyers or some thing asken so many questions. They left. They came back with the fire brigade and they asked what he would do if the wood caught on fire? Well Pete being pretty smart but not one with them university qualifications, scratched his head for a while before answering and then said in a slow drawl "I. guess. I . will. have. to. get. another. load . in . then." I was standing there and had to turn my back to stop laughing. Then there was this other time he sold some second hand wood for fire wood and this bloke and he came in and said there was some steel screwed to the wood and that he payed good money for fire wood! Pete's reply was "just . leave. it . there . and . go . and . get . another . piece . from. the. stack ..over. there!" The stack he pointed to was the farthermost stack away down the yard. On another occasion they complained about nails in the timber and he said "get . that. piece . of . timber. there . with. all . the . nails. in. it . and . take. it . home . for. free. and. to.. watch .. and . see. the . nails . burn. brighter. and I. didn't. charge. you. extra for. these. good. pieces" . Well strike me down the bloke fell for it and there was another happy customer. Now that's straight talk and all them Co's from them big organisation's councils Lawyers and governments can't beet that. The trouble is that some folks talk heaps and say nothing and that aint straight talk.

electricity prices
Well, they are at it again. 60% increase in prices. I know how to reduce prices by 60% sack the greedy bustards that get productivity bonuses for what 60 % increases in prices. Talk about health care why not give the pill to women and that will save the health care in Australia. Here it is 20 million people in Australia, half woman that leaves 10 million half of these woman are sexually active that leaves 5million x that by 40 dollars to see a doctor each month x twelve months= 5m x40 x12 = $2,400,000,000....greedy bustards no wonder we are going broke..Getting back to electricity they haven't done anything new to infastructure for years, but they have raped the system, maybe its time for the pill to be given to the Ceo's and all of Australia $%^&*#@ the bustards. As I said in one of my articles on Onlysolar.com.au don't go grid interactive go small solar and batteries as you use less of there electricity they charge a standing fee before you get paid for your electricity that you produce.
Reduce your light component of your bill by getting some garden solar lights and bring them in at night..There is a story about lights and global warming on footrotflats.blogspot.com

Recycled boat part 21
Today I took the boat down to the water and put her in the liquid stuff. It floated well and when the motor was started it took off like a rocket even with the three hp motor. There was four tiny leaks in the hull and these were blocked up with some twigs pushed into the holes. The motor mount that I made bent under the strain of the motor and it tilted enough to send the fuel to the back of the fuel tank and the motor stopped, I was unable to get a real good idea of the performance but it will be good. I got out a paddle and it paddled so easily. I think I will make one of them single rowing oars that I read about as this boat will fly with one. The first sight of the hull and her lines suggested that she was fast and stable in that swamp. Turns out that I was right. This boat is a real goer. Sorry that there is no photos as I left the camera behind..The sail board that I bought yesterday turns out to be two sail boards and have all the equipment with them, I will make them into a land yacht. Remember the stove I was making it failed to burn properly but makes fantastic charcoal. Thanks for reading the blog, there will be no posts for a while as I am going to be busy for a while, probably a week.... Have a great Christmas and new year if I forget.... cheers Stewart

Recycled boat part 20
I went out today to get four bolts for the boat and came home with a sail board. What do you do when you see a bargain. Well I got the bolts and will do some more work on the boat tomorrow..
